Prevotella intermedia strain VPI 4197 [B422, JCM 7365] is a whole-genome sequenced bacterial type strain that was isolated from empyema. This product may be used as a reference strain in studies for determining minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) and in time-kill assays for antimicrobial agents. It also has specific relevance for research regarding empyema of the lung, oral antimicrobial agents, and biofilm formation.
